Pounamu Weta Sculpture – wip #10
I’ve been working on the base.
The challenge is to make a natural transition from the footed bottom and squarish, flat sides to a more natural rotted interior and ultimately the Weta.
I’m pleased with how it’s going, hopefully it will be pretty much finished at the end of today.
I want to carve some intricate ” tension” areas in the wood that will slow down your eye as the piece is viewed.
The new wood carving station is working a treat,
