Inanga Pounamu Toki
$340
This pendant is based on a toki (which is a adze or axe shape). Â Larger toki would have been for woodworking jobs like canoes or houses while smaller ones would have been used for finer work like carving. Â They have been recorded from ancient Egyptian times up to the present day (now mostly made out of metal).
The design is normally associated with strength or someone who is a maker.
This pounamu is silvery green (inanga) with some olive parts around the few cloud fractures. Wonderfully translucent.
