Inanga Pounamu Toki
This pendant is based on a toki (which is a adze or axe shape). Larger toki would have been for woodworking jobs like canoes or houses while smaller ones would have been used for finer work like carving. They have been recorded from ancient Egyptian times up to the present day (now mostly made out of metal).
The design is normally associated with strength or someone who is a maker.
This pounamu is silvery green (inanga) with some olive parts around the few cloud fractures. Wonderfully translucent.
