Small Flying Ruru – Carnelian

I carved this small ruru / morepork out of a beautiful piece of NZ carnelian. Awesome colour and translucence. I’ve left the back with some natural texture.

The white bits are a natural part that is present on some carnelian stones. It always seems to occur on the outside and gives a great contrast to the translucent orange.
