Ruru – pekapeka – moth – moon #1

This is a narrative piece.  I’ve designed a few different carvings with these 4 elements and their relationship to each other.  All four are favorite subjects of mine.

I’ve used the lighter rind (outside of the stone) of this Pounamu for the ruru which deepens to a dense black as it gets to the polished moon.

Material – Pounamu (NZ Jade)
