Pounamu Falcon / kārearea

I carved this Falcon / kārearea out of Pounamu that has a rich yellow rind changing to a deep green as it goes further into the stone. I’ve used this colour change to make the falcon stand out from the background.

You can see this colour change in the work in progress photos I’ve included.  Some of the photos are in the sunlight and others in the shade to show the difference in colour.
