Dreamy Barn owl
This piece is carved out of honey carnelian from the Coromandel.
As you can see from the side photos the stone is in layers, some are more milky on the back and others more honey on the front. The think that stands out to me about this stone is its lustre, it has a very warm feel about it.
I think the barn owl is one of our newest native birds after naturally breeding in Northland.
