Dark Pounamu Toki

I think Toki or Adze/Axe/Chisel shapes would have been the first forms carved in all stone based cultures around the world.  Large ones would have been used for cutting down trees and shaping canoes and finer ones for wood carving with a lot of different sizes and shapes in between for a multitude of different jobs.

I’ve carved mine with facets/planes on the sides and top to capture and reflect the light.  I have also put a back curve on it so it sits well on the chest.

This Jade is Pounamu (From New Zealand).  It is a darker stone with some black marbling and light cloud fractures.
