Commission a Bead Strand

While I love more intricate carvings for me beads will always be special.

There is something so tactile about their shape which combined with their colour and magical translucence make them one of my favorite art objects.

My beads are hand shaped which means they are all individually carved.  This gives them variety in width and the taper from larger beads in the front to smaller at the back.

I use different types of Pounamu, other jades (Nephrite and Jadeite) and Carnelian.

The price depends on the length of the beads (I price them in 10cm lengths) and the stone used.  So a strand could have just 10cm in the front or beads all the way around – 40cm – 60cm.

I make my beads for $400 NZD per 10cm using the same jade/pounamu for all the beads or $500NZD per 10cm using mixed types of pounamu or jade. I price carnelian and other stones on a job by job basis.
