Pounamu Weta Sculpture – wip #5
This will be a sculpture of a Pounamu NZ tree Weta on a carved wooden base.
Onto the weta.Â
I’ve chosen two different types of Pounamu. The body will be two toned – brownish bottom and dark green top and the head will be dark green/black. I’ll make the eyes pop by polishing them to a good shine and leaving the rest of the body with a satin finish.
You can see the two toned body piece in one of the attached photos.
I’ll carve him to around 80% and then start the silver legs.
