Kawakawa Pounamu Toki

This pendant is based on a toki (which is an adze or axe shape).

The thoughts that came to me while I was carving this were about our relationship with the tools we use.  The toki is a tool and the makers intent flows or goes through it into what is being made.

The idea applies to physical (actions), verbal (words) and spiritual tools (prayer).

The tools we use and how we use them expresses ourselves and shape our path. They are powerful.  I would love to always have this in mind in my work, speech, habits and spiritual life.

Material – Cloudy Kawakawa Pounamu (NZ Jade)
Size –  42mm wide X 93mm high
Hand plaited black cord with Pounamu toggle.
